Dear Azmizam, many thanks for your good wishes & devoting part of your blog to highlight my career profile, nice picture too! (lucky it is not in High Definition!). Thank you very much for coming all the way from across town to attend my farewell lunch. Though I did manage not to mumble too much in my speech, I did forget to thank you for all the support you have given me since I was posted to PPKL in 2004 and your enthusiasm in promoting Sustainability Assessment in Malaysian landuse planning, sharing with me the latest developments in SA and assisting me to promote SA through 'teach-ins' to public and private sector planners. Thank you very much for your commitment and passion in your work. The Sustainability Assessment Manual that we have worked on, has been presented to JPBD's Management, approved and now being refined to be circulated to users. We hope to get JPBD’s initiative in incorporating Sustainability Assessment in Malaysian Local Plans to be reported in the RMK10 document! Tonight I'm writing a paper titled 'Early and Present Initiatives of Social Impact Assessment in Malaysia- Opportunities and Consolidation' to be presented at the ASEAN SIA Seminar here in KL on 19th. November 2008. Check out the Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment website. Okay Azmizam, all the best in your PhD. You're a fast and dedicated tracker, keep it up!
